The beer/soda box is one of the “greenest” single-use packaging if you take it back or select it normally. In Hungary, most boxes now have a deposit fee of 50 HUF.

Made of aluminum (often with a small amount of coating), which can be recycled almost endlessly, and when remelted we save about 95% energy compared to “virgin” aluminum.

Deposit fee (with DRS indication): transfer RePont to automatic/manual point. It is accepted only with an intact, blank, readable barcode (do not flatten it!). Refund: 50 HUF/piece. No deposit/old stock: you can go cleanly to the selective bin with the yellow lid (plastic+metal). (If you throw it in Selective, you can already flatten it there.)

Miért problémás?

The box is super recyclable, yet it goes to waste if it doesn't get back into circulation. In Europe, the recycling rate of boxes is about three-quarters (70-76%), there is still room for improvement, which is precisely what the DRS aims to achieve.

  • Don't flatten DRS boxes.Take it back to RepOnTra, take home the money or offer it.
  • If you are not a depositor: rinse, toss in yolk(even flattened).
  • Tap water + water bottle(good quality tap water at home), less disposable packaging.
  • Refillable Soda Machine/Draft Drinkin some places.
  • If you buy boxed: Instead of a larger package, buy just as muchas much as you need.
